While a majority of an "outside panel" of experts voted to keep GlaxoSmithKline's diabetes drug Avandia on the market, a majority also found the drug may increase the risks of heart attacks. As one panelist put it, "I'm not persuaded by the evidence to implicate the drug. I'm also not reassured by the evidence to exonerate it," said Sanjay Kaul of Cedars Sinai Medical Center.

Not a fan of Gov. FDA it has proven again and again it has a revolving door in its organization that leads back to Big Pharma.
Yes, you are right. It's like the leukemia drug the FDA just removed from the market, but it took them ten years to do so. The chemotherapy drug Mylotarg has been used to treat leukemia patients for the past decade and they discovered fatality rates were higher for those taking the drug than those who had no treatment at all. And people talk about having less government. It's not less government we need, it's government agencies that actually do what they are supposed to, when they are supposed to, not ten years later.
